The Friday search: technology + impact phrase = ?

Here’s an interesting little observation.

Sometimes a technology and an “impact phrase” become quite heavily linked together. What do I mean by that?

Well, try searching for 3D printing and will change the world and you’ll see what I mean. It’s quite amazing to see how many articles have used those two phrases in their titles.

Harvard Business Review says 3D printing will change the world. Gizmodo is more doubtful, while Forbes has you taking a sea voyage to find out what it thinks, and that’s just the first batch of hits.

But no one seems to deny that it is a very interesting technology development (although the technology itself has been around for 25 years as the Financial Times will tell you), and be will be quite disruptive and may well “usher in a new era” – another phrase that seems to be popular with this topic.

Jut thought it might be of interest.

Must try some other pairings of technology + impact phrase and see what crops up. Please let me know if you come across any good examples.
