Landscape and literature: another lovely exhibition from the British Library

Here’s a gorgeous mini-viewing on the BBC website of the sort of thing you will see if you visit the British Library’s latest exhibition: Writing Britain: Wastelands to Wonderlands.

It’s a lovely (4 minute 52) slide show with commentary and quite thought-provoking.  I’d like to send the entire coalition government to this exhibition, they are all such slaves to the “money god”*, it might just help their judgement as regards government policy on infrastructure.

The exhibition runs from 11 May to 25 September 2012.

Oh, how I just love the British Library!

*“The lord of all, the money-god,
Who rules us blood and hand and brain,
Who gives the roof that stops the wind,
And, giving, takes away again;”

― from George Orwell’s “Keep the Aspidistra Flying” – well worth reading, if you never have.
