A green and pleasant library

Next month is “green and ethical month” at the British Library’s Business and IP Centre.

There are events throughout May, some free, some with a small charge, covering topics such as raising funding for a green/ethical business and starting a social enterprise.

A few statistics are given to whet the apetite.  Evidently, green and ethical business is growing fast:

  • 79% of consumers would rather buy from companies that limit their environmental impact.
  • 89% are likely to buy more green goods in the next 12 months.
  • 76% of our users have a green or ethical element to their business.

All good stuff.

Meanwhile, those caught up in the cloud of volcano dust do have my sympathy, but I can’t help wondering, well, people living near airports are getting a decent night’s sleep and the sight of a completely vapour-trail-free sky is simply gorgeous…

What goes up, has come down – at least for a little while.
